The Iran Project - Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein AmirAbdollahian and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held HIGH-LEVEL talks in Jeddah on Friday.

The highest-level talks since the two countries resumed diplomatic relations after years of cutting ties was held behind closed doors.

In a tweet on X social media, Amirabdollahian described the talks, which lasted for 90 minutes, as explicit, frank, fruitful, and productive based on neighborhood policy.

Both sides emphasized the need to enhance sustainable relations in all fields and expressed consensus on security and development in the region.

During the meeting, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to visit the Kingdom.

Bin Salman noted that a meeting between the leaders of the two countries would be very important and that such meetings will have a significant effect on the expansion and deepening of bilateral and multilateral relations.

Saudi Arabia's crown prince stated that his countrys view of the relationship with Iran is strategic and that the kingdom is firmly resolved in this regard.

Tehran and Riyadh agreed in Beijing on March 10 to restore relations and reopen diplomatic missions within two months.

In a joint statement after signing the agreement, Iran and Saudi Arabia underlined the need to respect the national sovereignty of one another and refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of the respective countries.
