TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant has been equipped with the most modern laboratory equipment, a Russian nuclear official announced on Sunday.

Two calibration laboratories of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant have been equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment," Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant's Advisor for Metrological Affairs Vladimir Derganov said, addressing a conference on World Metrology Day in the Southern port city of Bushehr.

He reminded that the old calibration equipment were stationed in the power plant 14 years ago and were recently replaced with new equipment, adding that all the equipment used in the power plant are under constant watch of the experts.

The Islamic Republic signed the Bushehr contract with Russia in 1995 and the nuclear power plant reached its full capacity by August 2012.

The Bushehr nuclear power plant is located about 18 kilometers South of the provincial capital.

In September, Iran received the temporary control of all operations at Bushehr nuclear power plant from the Russian contractor after signing a relevant protocol.

The power plant now needs to be turned off for refueling and routine tests.
