Irans Defense Industry has recently delivered a new weapon, Vafa rocket launcher, to Iranian Armed Forces that could target all vessels and warships crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

The Vafa rocket launcher weighs nearly 350 kilograms which makes it an ideal weapon for fast attack vehicles. The launcher uses two kinds of rocket, the first of which has a range of 9 kilometers and the seconds, which employs rocket propeller, has range of almost 20 kilometers.

The launcher can fire five to eight 160mm rockets that contain 10 to 11 kilograms of TNT per minute. Since Iran has developed laser sensor systems for its canons, guided rockets will soon be produced for this launcher.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

The country has repeatedly assured other nations, especially regional neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is merely based on deterrence.

However, it has promised crushing response to any aggression against the country and warned that any military attack on its soil would lead to a war that would not be limited to the Middle East.
