TEHRAN (ISNA)- An Iranian lawmaker said the five border guards taken hostage by Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group were not among the 11 individuals released in Pakistani forces operations, adding that the guards are safe and sound.
"I have no knowledge about their release or any agreement for their release," Hossein Naghavi-Hosseini told ISNA.

He further said the Iranian soldiers were not among the 11 people released by Pakistani forces, and added, "Pakistani Army conducted an operation during which 11 people were released. I have no idea about the individuals and whether they are Iranians or not."

The lawmaker also added that Pakistan has vowed to pave the way for the release of the soldiers, adding that they are in good heath conditions.

Elsewhere regarding threat of a terrorist group on execution of an Iranian soldier, he said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran will not be affected by the threats. We will take other actions if God forbid a life of our border guards is in danger."

In a tweet posted on the Internet last Wednesday, the Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group, which has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping, threatened to execute the abducted border guards in retaliation for the alleged hanging of one of their operatives in Iran.

The group said a �religious tribunal� has already handed down the death penalty to all five Iranian soldiers.

On October 25, 2013, Jaish-ul-Adl killed 14 Iranian border guards and wounded six others in the border region near the city of Saravan in Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province.

In February 2013, Iran and Pakistan signed a security agreement under which both countries are required to cooperate in preventing and combating organized crime, fighting terrorism and countering the activities that pose a threat to the national security of either country.

Iran has repeatedly called on Pakistan to comply with the terms of the agreement.
