Tehran, Feb 18, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that the Syrian crisis should be resolved through campaign against terrorism, restoring stability and respecting people?s votes.

Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with Jordanian Speaker of Parliament Atef Tarawneh on the sidelines of the 9th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States (PUIC).


Iran is determined to broaden relations with Islamic states, said the Iranian president.

Restoration of peace and stability is of prime importance for Iran, said President Rouhani, adding that this can be materialized through cooperation between Iran and Jordan.

The issue of Syria is very complicated, he said, adding that all should accept that the issue of terrorism is the number one problem of the country, said President Rouhani.

Terrorists also are obstructing dispatch of humanitarian aid for the Syrian people, said President Rouhani.

The Syrian people should administer their own affairs, underlined Rouhani.

The Jordanian Speaker of Parliament, said he was carrying the greetings of Jordans King as well as his nation to President Rouhani as well as the Iranian people.

Jordan is very optimistic about expansion of economic and political relations and cooperation with Iran, he said.

Jordan attaches importance to Irans significant role in the region, he said.

Jordan also believes that Syrian crisis should be resolved by the Syrian people themselves, he said, adding that it the Iranian president is expected to play a leading role in resolving the Syrian crisis.

Jordan is very concerned about promotion of terrorism and extremism in Syria, he said, adding that the countrys problems should be resolved through peaceful talks.
