In aSunday meeting with an Egyptian media delegation in Tehran, Ali Akbar Velayati said some US officials have admitted they cannot turn a blind eye to Irans nuclear capabilities and they are unable to stop Tehrans activities.
Velayati said Iran would not accept any deal which would entail giving up the use of nuclear energy.
In order for the Sextet of world powers the US, Britain, Russia, China, France and Germany to achieve results in their nuclear talks with Tehran, they must recognize Irans nuclear rights as agreed in the accord inked between the two sides in Geneva on November 27, he added.
The Geneva nuclear deal is aimed at setting the stage for the full resolution of the Wests decade-old dispute over Irans nuclear energy program.
According to the official, the agreement between Tehran and the Sextet will both ease illegal sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic and secure Irans right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes under the full supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Under the Geneva nuclear deal, the six countries agreed to lift some of the existing sanctions against Iran in exchange for Tehrans confidence-building measure to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities for a six-month period.
