EU lifts sanction on main Iranian insurance company

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Managing Director of Iran Insurance Company said the EU lifted sanctions imposed against the company following defense presented by the corporation.
"An appeal court is to be held in the near future. We have sent our defense and we will wait for the court's verdict," Javad Sahamian told ISNA.

He said the country has pursued the issue seriously, and added Iran Insurance Company is very active in the country's economic security.

The sanctions caused that letters of credit guaranteed by the company were refused by others, but after ease of sanctions the company can work actively in insuring LCs in areas such as freight.

Sahamian said the corporation has managed to control sanctions considerably to prevent any great loss and pave the way for more growth.
