Iranian diplomat abducted in Yemen in good health

Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says the Iranian diplomat abducted in Yemen is in good health.
In a Sunday interview, Amir-Abdollahian expressed confidence about the health conditions of the diplomat, adding, Efforts are ongoing by the Yemeni government to liberate Nour Ahmad Nikbakht.

Amir-Abdollahian noted that a special committee is pursuing the issue at the Iranian and Yemeni foreign ministries.

Nikbakht, an administrative staff member of the Iranian Embassy in Sanaa, was on his way to work from his home in the citys diplomatic quarter on July 21 when unidentified gunmen blocked the road, forced him out of his vehicle and abducted him.

Yemens Foreign Ministry announced on August 14 that it had no clues as to the whereabouts of the abducted Iranian diplomat.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has already summoned the Yemeni charg d'affaires twice to express Tehrans concern over the fate of the diplomat and to remind Sanaa that it is responsible for Nikbakhts safety.
