Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Wednesday evening with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and his accompanying delegation. At the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the common concerns of humanity, particularly the issue of nuclear disarmament, and stressed: "The Islamic Republic of Iran insists on its position Middle East free of nuclear weapons' and the United Nations should make serious efforts to dispel the existing concerns about nuclear weapons."

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that America and certain other powers have equipped the Zionist regime with nuclear weapons, further stating: "This is a great danger for the region and the United Nations is expected to adopt a measure in this regard."

Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to President Obama's nuclear threat against Iran and said: "The United Nations was expected to respond to this threat immediately."

He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is opposed to production and use of nuclear weapons, adding that the stance is based on Iran's religious beliefs and that it is not an attempt to please America and western countries.

At the meeting, the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that Iran enjoys a very important position in the region and stated: "Regarding Syria, as the UN Secretary General, I ask the Islamic Republic of Iran to use its influence and power to prepare the ground for resolving the Syrian crisis."

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Wednesday evening with the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his accompanying delegation. Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the history of Iran-India relations and stressed: "The Iranian people have always had a positive attitude towards India, which provides very good grounds for further expansion of relations between the two countries."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the ground has been prepared for strengthening comprehensive relations between Iran and India, further stressing that the two countries can have good cooperation, particularly in areas relating to trade and infrastructure.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that India's stability, independence and power are important for the Islamic Republic and expressed hope that with India's cooperation, Iran will be able to prepare the ground for the Non-Aligned Movement to play a role in important regional and global issues during its three-year term as head of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Manmohan Singh reiterated: "During Iran's term as the head of the Non-Aligned Movement, India will try its best to help the movement play a role in regional and global issues."

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Thursday evening with the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. He said that Iran welcomes expansion of ties with Tajikistan in different areas, adding: "Showing respect for traditions, beliefs and rituals of the people attracts their firm support and by relying on the support of their people, all governments can remain steadfast in the face of foreign interference."

During the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon discussed the areas for Iran-Tajikistan cooperation and asked for further expansion of economic, political and cultural ties between the two countries.

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Thursday evening with the Lebanese President Michel Suleiman. At the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that Lebanon enjoys a particularly important and sensitive position in the region, adding: "Certain foreign countries are trying to spread the problems of some of the regional countries to Lebanon, but cooperation and solidarity of Lebanese groups and tribes and their reliance on resistance as an important value can make these activities unsuccessful."

In this meeting, President Michel Suleiman expressed his gratitude to Iran for holding the 16th Summit of the Non-Alignment Movement in Tehran and stressed the need for further expansion of ties between Iran and Lebanon.

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Thursday evening with the President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe. At the meeting, President Mugabe announced that Iran's presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement is very good news which has created hope in the hearts of the countries which are after justice, freedom and independence.

The Zimbabwean President severely criticized westerners for their big lies about defending human rights, law and democracy, adding: "The track record of America, England and France and the double standards in their behavior towards the events in the Middle East show that westerners are only after oil."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that Iran welcomes expansion of relations with Zimbabwe and reiterated: "We believe that genuine power lies in strengthening national resolve and in scientific and social advances, not in atomic bombs."

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Thursday evening with the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that friendship and cooperation with neighboring countries is the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that the advances made by Turkmenistan are a source of joy for Iran and added: "The common interests in different areas, including the issues relating to the Caspian Sea, can be the basis for further expansion of ties between Iran and Turkmenistan."

President Berdimuhamedow said at the meeting: "We will proudly make every effort to further expand our relations with our great neighbor."

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Friday evening with the parliament Speaker of Algeria Abdul Qadir bin Saleh.Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that Algeria can play a significant role in the Non-Aligned Movement and reiterated: "There are numerous capacities for expansion of economic, political and cultural relations between Iran and Algeria and it is necessary to make use of these capacities."

In the meeting, Abdul Qadir bin Saleh said that the presence of heads of different states in the Tehran summit is very important and significant in current conditions, further stating: "Algeria also wants to expand its ties with Iran and it is necessary to take action in this regard by establishing joint commissions."

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Friday with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. At the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that terrorism has been imposed on regional nations by the west and reiterated: "Wherever America and other western powers go, they give rise to malevolence, corruption and insecurity.

The Pakistani President described Iran-Pakistan relations as deep and referring to Islamabad's efforts to expand relations with Tehran, he said: "We completely agree with your wise ideas regarding unity and resistance."

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Friday morning with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina Wajed and her accompanying delegation. During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the cultural and historical background of Iran and Bangladesh and said that Farsi used to be a common language in Bangladesh in the distant past. He stressed that deep cultural relationships prepare the ground for political, international, economic and social cooperation.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the only way to counter the policies of the domineering powers is for Islamic and independent countries to cooperate and develop close relations with each other. He reiterated that if there had been serious attempts at such cooperation and unity, the tragic events would not have happened in Syria and Bahrain.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh confirmed the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and stated: "By deploying their capacities and resources, Islamic and independent countries should prevent the global powers from making decisions for other countries."

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Friday evening with the Prime Minister of Syria Wael Nader al-Halqi and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, hesaid that America and the Zionist regime are the main elements behind the tragic events that are happening in Syria. He stressed: "The Non-Aligned Movement is definitely more entitled than America, NATO and certain European countries to become politically involved in the issues of Syria."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that current conditions of Syria and the killings must not continue and added: "The main culprits in the issues of Syria are those who have prepared the ground for flooding weapons into Syria and giving financial support to irresponsible groups."

He added that the Syrian government should continue political reforms and stated: "The Syrian government should explain and expose the realities behind the conspiracy in Syria to Arab public opinion."

In the meeting, Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi expressed his gratitude for the positions adopted by the Islamic Republic of Iran and presented a report of the latest conditions in Syria.

Wael Nader al-Halqi stressed the need for the Non-Aligned Movement to become involved in the issue of Syria and said: "The Syrian government is determined to counter terrorist groups and cleanse different regions of these groups.

 

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Friday with the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki and his accompanying delegation. Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the conditions of the region, particularly the conditions of Syria and Bahrain, and stressed: "The Islamic Republic of Iran as the head of the Non-Aligned Movement and Iraq as the head of the Arab League can make use of the capacities of these organizations to play a significant and appropriate role in regional issues."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the enemies are trying to say in their propaganda that the issue of Syria is a war between Shia and Sunni Muslims. He reiterated: "The truth behind the issues of Syria is that a proxy war has been waged on the Syrian government by certain governments, led by America and other powers, with the aim of securing the interests of the Zionist regime and harming the resistance front in the region."

In the meeting, the Iraqi Prime Minister explained domestic conditions of Iraq and said: "By Allah's favor, Iraq has managed to resolve many of its problems and is starting to follow the path of reconstruction and progress. On this path, Iraq needs the experiences of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Nouri Maliki said that he is extremely concerned about the situation of Syria, interference of foreigners, recruiting of new members by al-Qaida and other extremist groups, and the consequences that this will have for Syria's neighbors.
