Chief organizer of the 16th NAM summit announced the holding of a tripartite meeting to follow up the immediate release of the seven members of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) who were recently abducted in Libya, on the sideline of NAM summit.
Ali Saeedlou announced on Tuesday that the meeting will be hold with the presence of Libyan Foreign Minister, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Head of Iran's Red Crescent Society on the sideline of the 16th NAM summit in Tehran, Mehr reported.
Saeedlou said "in the meeting, there will be serious negotiations on the immediate release of a seven-member IRCS delegationabducted in Libya."
In a letter to the Vice-President for International Affairs, families of abducted delegation call for expediting the release of those kidnapped.
And, Saeedlou is supposed to deliver the letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
The seven abducted members of IRCS include: Tehran province Director General of Red Crescent Society Seyyed Montazer Shobbar, Deputy for International and Humanitarian Affairs Mohammad Shahaboddin Mohammadi Araghi, Director for Medical Procurement Fardin Balouchi, Director General for Administrative Affairs Mohammad Balouchi, Deputy for Heath, Medical Treatment and Rehabilitation Affairs Abdol Reza Shahrezaei, Advisor for Red Crescent Society Seyyad Hassan Mousavi, and Expert of International Affairs Mohammad Amir Sharifi Fard.
On July 31, The Libyan Red Crescent (LRC) said in a statement that unidentified gunmen had kidnapped a seven-member IRCS delegation after they left the headquarters of the LRC in Benghazi.
The Iranian delegation was in Libya at the invitation of the Libyan Red Crescent to discuss various prospects for cooperation in the field of humanitarian assistance.
