Sanctions removal, Iran's serious demand from West: NS spox
According to The Iran Project, Abolfazl Amoui, speaking to Eghtesad Online, said that JCPOA (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) enjoys various aspects and the main demand of Iran in the internationally-endorsed agreement is sanctions removal.

“However, the sanctions have been reduced in the international field and we do not tackle international prohibitions in trade and weapons interaction, as well as weapons technologies,” he said.

“But in terms of economic achievements, which is considered one of the main challenges of the country, unfortunately, JCPOA failed to meet expectations,” the spokesman added.

He went on to note that this situation is due to the fact that the other side did not fulfill its commitments to lift the sanctions.

In addition, Iran is a party to this agreement that has fulfilled its obligations in the JCPOA, and now our major demands are that the other party must fulfill its commitments, and this demand remains in place.

In fact, the western side reluctance goes back to the revival of the JCPOA in the past; that they are not willing to fulfill their obligations. But the Islamic Republic is seriously pursuing the lifting of sanctions, the Iranian official reiterated.

The start of the Gaza war has partly sidelined the negotiations to revive the JCPOA; And during the past weeks, some American officials have spoken about the death of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
