Iran vehemently condemns Israeli PM's nuclear threat

The Iran Project - The Iranian Ambassador to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani, has strongly condemned the recent threat made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to use nuclear weapons against Iran, saying it reserves the right to deliver a resolute response to the occupying entity under international law.

In a Monday letter to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, as well as the presidents of the General Assembly and Security Council, Iravani emphasized that Iran will not hesitate to exercise its legitimate rights to defend its national interests.

He stated that the use or threat of using nuclear weapons is a clear violation of international laws and the UN Charter.

Iravani called for a strong response from the international community, particularly from the UN Security Council, to condemn the reckless and dangerous statements made by the Israeli regime.

He stressed that Iran is committed to upholding international order and protecting humanity, and will respond decisively to any threats or illegal actions by Israel to defend its security and national interests.

On Friday, Netanyahu called for a credible nuclear threat against Iran in an address to the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. However, the hawkish premiers office later said that he misread the line and meant to say a credible military threat.
