Iran has right to respond to Israeli threats, says nuclear chief

The Iran Project - The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, has stated that Iran reserves the right to respond to Israel's provocative actions.

This comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for Iran to face a credible nuclear threat.

Addressing the 67th Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna on Monday, Eslami referred to Netanyahus remarks at the UN General Assembly, saying there is no doubt that the international communitys silence has emboldened the Israeli regime.

It is clear that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers it its right to respond to the audacities of the Zionist regime, he added.

He also condemned Israel's threats against Iran's nuclear scientists, stating that they violate international agreements.

Iran's nuclear chief then expressed concern about Israel's secret nuclear military program and accused the regime of endangering international peace and security.

In his speech at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly on Friday, Netanyahu warned about the curse of a nuclear Iran and accused Tehranof spending billions to arm its terror proxies.

Irans diplomatic delegation at the UNdismissed Netanyahus speech as a comedy show, saying The baseless allegations made by Israeli officials no longer fool anyone.

Israel, which possesses an estimated 200 to 400 nuclear warheads, has refused inspections of its facilities and has not signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The regime has also been responsible for assassinating Iranian nuclear scientists and conducting sabotage operations against Iran's nuclear facilities.
