The Iran Project - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs has stated that negotiations to revive the 2015 nuclear deal could resume if the other parties approach the talks realistically and avoid repeating past mistakes.

Ali Bagheri Kani emphasized that the new Iranian administration is serious about the talks and has not blocked the path to diplomacy.

He said that Iran sees no obstacles to resuming negotiations and reaching a balanced agreement if the other parties show realism.

Talks between Iran and the remaining parties to the JCPOA have been ongoing since April 2021, with the aim of bringing the US back into the deal.

However, American diplomats have not been involved due to the US withdrawal from the agreement.

Iran has repeatedly expressed its readiness to conclude negotiations and have sanctions lifted but has warned that this opportunity will not remain open indefinitely for the Europeans.

Bagheri Kani also stressed the need for constant vigilance and prudence in foreign policy, emphasizing that sustainable security and development depend on remaining committed to ideals and values.

He added that Iran's 'Look East' policy of strengthening ties with neighboring countries and Eastern powers does not mean overlooking capacities elsewhere in the world, and Iran welcomes European countries' role in its development plans.
