Albania blocks anti-Iran MKO terrorist group's internet access

Albania blocks anti-Iran MKO terrorist group
The Iran Project - n an effort to crack down on the activities of the Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO), the Albanian government has blocked internet access at the group's camp near Tirana.

This move is part of Albania's ongoing efforts to restrict the MKO's terrorist and cyber activities at the Ashraf-3 camp.

In June, Albanian police raided the camp, seizing 150 computer devices and accusing the MKO of engaging in terror and cyber attacks against foreign institutions.

One person was killed and many others were injured during the clashes that ensued. In August, Albanian police took control of the camp and imposed a strict curfew in the area.

Later, the chief of the Governments Information Council announced that Tehran has received part of the hard drives and computer cases that were seized from MKO terrorists by Albanian police.

Sepehr Khalaji stated that the Iranian specialists are working on the devices to recover and extract information, adding that the results so far are promising.

The MKO has a long history of carrying out terrorist attacks against Iranian civilians and government officials, resulting in the deaths of thousands of Iranians. While the group was previously listed as a terrorist organization by the EU, Canada, the US, and Japan, it was removed from these lists in recent years.
