Iranian FM, Saudi crown prince hold ‘direct and fruitful
The Iran Project - Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have held productive talks in Jeddah.

In a tweet, Amirabdollahian described the talks, which lasted for 90 minutes, as explicit, frank, fruitful, and productive based on neighborhood policy.

Both sides emphasized the need to enhance sustainable relations in all fields and expressed consensus on security and development in the region.

Amirabdollahian reiterated Iran's determination to improve relations with countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the potential for comprehensive cooperation in various areas such as politics, economics, commerce, transit, science, technology, culture, and popular fields.

The Iranian foreign minister also emphasized the importance of dialogue and development-oriented ties for success in the region.

Both Iran and Saudi Arabia were recognized as playing a leading role in the region and the Muslim world. The key issues of Palestine and al-Quds were discussed, with the Iranian foreign minister stating that the Israeli regime poses a threat to all nations.

The Saudi crown prince extended greetings from himself and the Saudi King to Iranian leaders and reiterated Saudi Arabia's view of the relationship with Iran as strategic.

He also invited the Iranian president to visit Saudi Arabia.

The meeting between Amirabdollahian and bin Salman followed talks between the Iranian foreign minister and his Saudi counterpart in Riyadh.

The resumption of relations and reopening of diplomatic missions between Iran and Saudi Arabia was agreed upon in Beijing on March 10.

Both countries highlighted the need to respect each other's national sovereignty and refrain from interfering in internal affairs. They also agreed to implement existing agreements on security cooperation and various areas of cooperation.
