Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman lambasted the terrorist attack by Takfiri elements on a gathering of the people of Afghanistan's Herat in the recreational area of Jibril town, which killed and injured a large number of citizens.
On Sunday, Saeed Khatibzadeh expressed his condolences to the victims' families and the people of Afghanistan, and once again warned of the divisive conspiracies of the enemies of the Islamic Ummah.
He stressed the need for the interim government of the Taliban to take responsibility for the security of citizens and to increase care and intensify measures to protect the people, especially vulnerable ethnic and religious groups.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is confident that the Muslim brothers and sisters in Afghanistan will thwart the divisive conspiracies of their enemies with empathy, solidarity and cooperation," Khatibzadeh highlighted.
A bomb blast near the western Afghan city of Jibril has killed at least four people and injured 25 others on Friday night.
