Iran not willing to tie prisoner swap to nuclear talks: FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a phone call with UN Secretary General Antnio Guterres said Iran considers prisoner swap as a humanitarian issue and is not will to tie it with nuclear talks.

Referring to Daesh's recent terrorist acts in Afghanistan, Amirabdollahian expressed concerns overthe situation in Afghanistan.

He noted that terrorist movementstargeting prayers and new influx of refugees have made the UN responsible more than ever.

He called on the UN chief to take serious action for fighting terrorism in Afghanistan.

He stated that Afghanistan neighbors' conference will be held at foreign ministers' level in Tehran.

Amirabdollahian pointed to the nuclear talks, saying that the recent negotiations between Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani and Deputy Secretary-General of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Action Enrique Mora were positive and will continue next week in Brussels.

Iran welcomes negotiations which bring about tangible results, he said, adding that Iran will return to its commitments if other parties comply with their obligations.

Guterres, for his part, said that theUN will continue rendering humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and underlines formation of an inclusive government, including all Afghan groups and minorities.

He wished success for nuclear talks, saying that the UN has always supported Iran nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA, and has sought a solution after US withdrawal from the deal.
