Iran eyes enhancement of parliamentary ties with Turkey

Tasnim Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani congratulated Turkey on its parliament's centenary, expressing Tehrans readiness to broaden parliamentary ties with the neighboring state.

Larijani on Tuesday sent a message to Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop to offer his congratulations on the 100th anniversary of formation of the Turkish legislature.

The Iranian speaker emphasized the need to strengthen and promote the friendly ties between Tehran and Ankara, expressing confidence that the expansion of bilateral parliamentary relations would open up new vistas for cooperation between the two Muslim neighbors.

Larijani also voiced the Iranian parliaments readiness to boost interaction and promote cooperation with Turkey in order to serve the interests of the two nations.

The Turkish Grand National Assembly was established on April 23, 1920.
