Iranian presidential candidate, Mohammad Gharazi, says inflation can be subdued if the next administration balances its expenditure against its revenues.
Speaking in a program broadcast live on Javan Radio station on Tuesday, the former telecommunications minister said prices increase when administrations spend more than they earn.

Nevertheless, he noted, there are chances to bring runaway prices of goods and services under control.

Gharazi said resource-rich Iran could have done much better if weren't for poor management.

He also criticized the devaluation of Irans national currency, saying that the next administration should commit itself to not spending more than its earnings.

Gharazi will be facing Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, President of the Center for Strategic Research of the Expediency Council Hassan Rohani, lawmaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Secretary of Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei, former Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, and former First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref in the June 14 presidential election.

Over 66,000 polling stations will be set up across the country. Expatriates will also be able to cast ballots at 285 polling stations that will be set up in their respective countries.
