MPs to discuss assault on Iranian embassy in London

IRNA Iran's relations with the European Union and the assault on Iranian Embassy in London are to be discussed in the presence of the political and economic deputy foreign ministers, respectively, Abbas Araqchi and Gholam-Reza Ansari, said a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) on Saturday.

On Friday evening, members of the extremist sect Shirazi attacked the Iranian Embassy in London, climbed the walls of the mission, raised their flag, and disrespected the flag of Iran.

The Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bahram Qasemi said that upon receiving the news Araqchi protested about the event to the British Embassy in Tehran and demanded the Iranian diplomats be fully protected by the UK police, and also called for the agents of the event to be dealt with as soon as possible.

Saying that the British Embassy in Tehran has officially apologized, Qasemi added that UK riot police reached at the scene and took control of the situation.
