Crashed ATR72 black box not found yet

IRNA - Because of bad weather conditions, the black box of the ATR72 aircraft which crashed on Sunday morning in southwestern Iran has not yet been found, an official with the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran (CAO) said.

'A French expert group has gone to the crash site, and will start its work when the weather becomes better,' Mohammad Saeed Sharafi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The French group consists of three members from accident investigation commission and four others from the ATR Company, a member of Isfahan mountaineering committee Mehrab Saberi had earlier told IRNA.

The black box area has been identified by pictures taken from the accident site, he added.

An ATR passenger plane belonging to Aseman Airline crashed close to Semirom, south of Isfahan Province, on Sunday when it was flying from Tehran to Yassouj, southwestern Iran.

All 66 passengers and crew members on board the plane lost their lives in the incident.

Some 20 rescue teams have been stationed near the wreckage of the crashed plane to transport the dead bodies. It has been announced that 32 bodies have so far been spotted. The bodies will be transported to Yassouj, capital city of Kohkiloyeh-Boyer Ahmad Province for identification.
