Tasnim � Political director of Lebanon�s Amal Movement praised Iran for its support for the Arab country in the fight against Takfiri terrorism and the Zionist regime of Israel.

Lebanon�s success to deal with the threat of Takfiris and the Israeli regime owes much to the support provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran, Khalil Hamdan said at a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi in Tehran on Wednesday.

He also hailed the age-old relationship between Iran and Lebanon and close ties between political and religious figures of the two nations.

The Iranian diplomat, for his part, said Tehran�s principled policy is supporting Lebanon, calling for stronger unity among the Lebanese political factions in the battle against terrorism and the Tel Aviv regime�s excessive demands.

Heading a delegation of the Amal Movement�s presiding board, Hamdan paid a visit to Iran to attend a memorial service held for Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, a former president of Iran, chairman of the Expediency Council, and Tehran�s representative in the Assembly of Experts, who passed away at the age of 82 on Sunday.
