Iran ready to help resolve regional tensions: Envoy

September 28, The Iran Project - Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost says Iran believes that any regional tension is to the detriment of the world and region's peace and stability.

Given that Iran's foreign policy focuses on resolving the regional tensions, Tehran is ready to help ease the problems, said Honardoost on Tuesday answering the Pakistani reporter's question whether Iran is willing to mediate between India and Pakistan to resolve the tensions.

Iran envoy stressed that the continuation of tensions and conflicts is not in the favor of any country in the region, adding in order to achieve development, peace and stability, all regional countries need to cooperate.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to Iran-Pakistan common interests and concerns, saying that the two countries are trying to boost friendly relations.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the level of Iran-Pakistan's economic and commercial cooperation, noting one of the main obstacles for the cooperation is not being informed of the two countries capacities and capabilities.

Pointing to the Iran-Pakistan recent negotiations about increasing flight lines, developing banking relations, taking new actions in the field of energy cooperation, he stated that the two countries are trying to develop economic and commercial developments.
