Russia and Iran agreed to continue developing cooperation in the banking sector.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) Moscow and Tehran agreed tocontinue developing cooperation inthe banking sector, Russian Energy Minister and ?o-?hair ofthe Iran-Russia intergovernmental commission Alexander Novak said Friday.
"We agreed that it was necessary tocontinue work inthe area ofdeveloping relations inthe banking sphere. This is the main issue onthe agenda today, asthe development ofthe potential forinterbank lending, opening accounts, mutual crediting, provides an additional opportunity and an impetus toour companies toensure the expansion ofcooperation," Novak said aftermeeting Iranian Communication Minister Mahmoud Vaezi, who co-chairs the commission.
The meeting, set totake place onthe sidelines ofthe Russian-Azerbaijani-Iranian summit, is expected tofocus onthe situation inSyria, Iraq and the surge ofterrorist activity inEurope, amongother topics.
