Iranian presidential elections will be held on May 19 of 2017 if the Experts Council approves the date for the elections, proposed by the Interior Ministry, according to minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli.
TEHRAN(Sputnik) Iranian Interior Ministry put forward a proposal tohold presidential elections inthe country onMay 19, 2017, minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said onTuesday.
"If the Experts Council approves the date forthe elections, proposed bythe Interior Ministry, the elections will take place onMay 19 of2017. In this case, election campaigns will be launched onDecember 21, 2016," he told journalists.
It will be the 12th presidential elections inthe country. The most recent presidential election elections were held inthe country onJune14, 2013.
