Leader's representative at IRGC: Saudi control over Iraq impossible

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Supreme Leader's representative at the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ali Saeedi underlined Riyadh's panic over the Iraqi forces' recent victories against the terrorists, and said Saudi Arabia can never take control of Iraq.

"Saudi Arabia cannot have an agent like Saddam in Iraq again to control the country; Riyadh should leave the Iraqi people to decide their own fate," Saeedi said in an interview with Iran-based Arabic-language al-Alam news channel on Monday.

Noting that the Saudis' dismay of Fallujah liberation can be seen in the reports released by the country's media, he said, "Actually, Fallujah was a strategic point for them, it was a supply route and logistic center a short distance from Baghdad and it was a center for recruiting and training terrorists."

"It is natural for Saudi Arabia to be upset with the liberation of such a center," Saeedi added.

Iraq's Police Chief on Friday declared full liberation of Fallujah after the two-year-long ISIL control over the strategic city.

Commander of Iraq's Federal Police Major General Raed Shaker Judat appeared on the country's national TV in an interview carried out at the center of Fallujah, declaring that the city has been completely purged of ISIL terrorists.

Meantime, Fallujah Liberation Operation Commander Abdol-Wahhab Saedi told the state-run TV that his forces are in control of the entire city and state buildings.

The ISIL terrorists had planted bombs in Fallujah governor's building.
