Death of Daesh jihadi groups leader Abu Bakr Baghdadi would have a great effect on the extremist organization, Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan said.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) A US-led coalition ofnearly 60 nations has been conducting airstrikes againstthe Daesh first inIraq and later Syria since2014 albeit withoutthe approval ofthe Syrian government or the UN Security Council.
"We will destroy [Daesh], I have no doubt inmy mind. And we have toremove the leadership that directs that organization tocarry outthese horrific attacks If we got Baghdadi, I think it would have a great impact onthe organization, and it will be felt bythem," Brennan told the NBC News network inan interview released Sunday.
The Daesh is a terrorist organization prohibited inmany countries aroundthe world, including the United States and Russia. It operates mainly inSyria and Iraq.
