Rouhani warns against dangers threaten Muslim world



Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says terrorism and Zionism are currently the biggest threats to the Muslim world.

Rouhani made the remarks upon his Saturday return from Ankara where he had met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and attended the 13th Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit.

The situation in the region and the Muslim world demanded that we take theopportunity for unity as well as confrontation withdangers menacing the Muslim world, he said.

Stressingthe Iranian delegations powerful presence in the summit, Rouhani noted that Zionists had tried and failed to create division among the gathering participants.

On the summits sidelines productive talks had been held with the leaders of Muslim countries and with the government of Irans neighbor Turkey,the Iranian president added.
Good agreements were made with Turkey over measures which we must take in the Muslim world, especially over the two countries cooperation in the three fields of women's role, battling violence and terrorism and unity of Muslim countries, as well asthe proximityof religions, President Rouhanisaid.
The 13th OIC summit opened in Istanbul on Thursday under the theme, Unity and Solidarity for Justice and Peace.

With 57 member states spread over four continents, the OIC is the second largest inter-governmental organization after the United Nations.
