Tehran, Feb 1, IRNA Iran Air inked a deal here on Monday with the Aerei da Trasport Reginale (ATR) to buy 20 planes.
ATR is co-owned by European aircraft manufacturer Airbus and an Italian aerospace group.
Based on the deal, Iran Air buys short-haul planes with the capacity of 70 passengers from the ATR.
ATR is due to deliver two to four of those planes to Iran during the current year (2016).
Anti-Iran sanctions were lifted on January 16 when 'Implementation Day' of the July nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) started.
