Mustafa (PBUH) Prize to introduce scientific center of Islamic world

Tehran, Dec 22, IRNA - An Iranian researcher and scientist said, Mustafa (PBUH) Prize could be an advertising opportunity to introduce Iran as the scientific center of excellence in Islamic world.


Commenting on achievements of the award Mehrdad Rahimi said, To understand the achievements of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, first we have to look into the fruitful history of Iran in the fields of science and medicine.

We have benefited from the expertise and thoughts of scholars such as Ibn Sina (Avicenna) whose books have been translated and taught in many universities around the world. And even after him, excellent scientists flourished in this country and all this could turn Iran into the scientific center of Islamic world.

According to the Public Relations Department of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, Rahimi outlined the scientific position of Iran after the industrial revolution and said, After the industrial revolution, European universities reached many discoveries thanks to adoption of scientific books from the East. By taking different steps and developing new standards especially in medicine, they have been able to take a big leap in the field of science.

The official continued, Iran has always been the land of origin for great scientists, doctors and scholars. A country with such history and treasures can introduce itself as the scientific center in Islamic world. Therefore Mustafa (PBUH) Prize could be an opportunity for Iran and Islamic countries to regain their position in the field of science.

Rahimi noted, Regarding the goals of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, we have to try to increase similar events in the country and hold these events better and with more glory each year. The most important achievement of the Prize is the fact that it could strengthen interaction and communication of Iran with other Islamic countries which could result in more investment and science production in all involved countries.

Mustafa (PBUH) Prize is a top science and technology award granted to the top researches and scientists of the Islamic states in the fields of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Information and Communications Science and Technologies, Life and Medical Sciences and Top Scientific Achievement in Other fields.

The first round of Mustafa (PBUH) Prize takes place 24-29 Dec 2015 in Tehran, Iran.
