Nuclear hospital to diversify Irans nuclear activities

TEHRAN, Oct. 27 (MNA) Head of AEOI has said nuclear hospital is intended to show the world that Irans activities in nuclear industry is not limited to enrichment and heavy water.

Ali Akbar Salehi who was speaking in the ceremony of signing the agreement to build Irans first nuclear hospital on Monday, told reporters that today will be a blessed day, since the physical work on building of a great nuclear hospital which is specific to nuclear treatment of diseases starts today; I have spoken much about this hospital; however, I reiterate that the negative mentality about our nuclear activities should be drastically changed, Salehi added. With construction of this hospital and other similar events, we intend to communicate the message to the world that our nuclear activities are not limited to enrichment or heavy water, he said.

There has been a mentality dominant in international community which saw only military dimensions of Irans nuclear activity when there comes to issue of nuclear technology; the issue of radio-drugs and nuclear medicine has had an unfortunate fate in terms of public understanding of these terms; our duty is to provide the public with nuclear energy peaceful services, he told the ceremony. When Tehran Reactor nuclear fuel was depleted, we requested fuel; however, they refused the request. When faced with that, our nuclear scientists embarked on their own efforts to produce incredibly within two years the fuel needed by the reactor, which indicated the potentials of our youth in nuclear technology, Salehi rejoiced to say. They scored a historic achievement worthy of praise in pages of history when JCPOA was signed; in the opportunity provided thus, we prepared the preliminary grounds for building the hospital, which is the first ever such hospital in the Middle East, and will be equipped with advanced equipment such as radio-treatment and other modern treatment facilities, he asserted.

The hospital will use equipment which are definitely made by few countries enjoying the advanced technologies; a research section will also work along with diagnostic and treatment sections, Salehi concluded.
