Tehran, Sept 7, IRNA The unjust and arbitrary sanctions on Iran, especially during the last three years, slowed down economic development, but, could not bring it to a halt, Head of Iran's Management and Planning Organization Mohammad Baqer Nobakht said on Monday.
'Reports by the High Council of Statistics, suggest a positive economic development for 2015-2016, as the inflation rate shows a downward trend of 30 percent,' Nobakht said.
'Development in Iran shows a positive rate of three percent, in contrast to the negative trends of -6.8 and -1.9 in the past,' he added.
Referring to the formulation of the Sixth Five-Year Development Plan by the Management and Planning Organization, Nobakht said that the plan utilizes all the domestic and international potentials to put economic development on fast track.
The Vice-President said that to make realize the resistance economy, all domestic and foreign potentials would be employed in order to increase production.
'To export our non-oil products we need access to markets.'
'To access new markets we need high-level engagement with other countries,' he said.
Nobakht joined Ali Rabiei, the Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare and a number of Members of Parliament in Tehran Grand Mosque Monday to attend the exhibition for the production capacities of the cooperatives.
