Nuclear deal an accomplishment for Iran: Jumblatt

Beirut, Aug 7, IRNA -- Lebanon's Druze Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt hailed Iran's diplomacy in nuclear talks with 5+1 Group, saying that the agreement is considered an accomplishment for Iran.

In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali, he added that what is important for a country is the capability of developing nuclear technology 'and Iran has done so'.

Nuclear bomb has no use in today's world, he noted.

Referring to current problems facing the region, Jumblatt said that Israel is seeking division of regional states by intensify religious sedition among the nations.

During the meeting, the two officials also discussed regional developments and Lebanon's situation.

Commenting on the content of the nuclear deal reached by Iran and 5+1 Group, Fathali said that thanks to the insightful guidelines and wise leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and prudence of President Rouhani and skillfulness of the negotiating team, the talks produced desirable results.

Iran has never been after making nuclear bombs as the Supreme Leader ahs clearly declared building nuclear bomb as Haram (unlawful), he said.

As to the crisis in Syria and Iran's peace plan, the ambassador noted that Iran has from the beginning truly understood the nature of the plots and seditions behind the crisis gripping the country and underlined that the only solution to Syrian crisis is a political one.
