Berlin, Apr 13, IRNA -- The Iranian nuclear talks will top the foreign policy agenda of the G7 foreign ministers (the US, Germany,
France, Britain, Japan, Canada and Italy) when they meet in the north German city of Luebeck on Tuesday and Wednesday, a German official said.
German foreign ministry spokesman Martin Schaefer told IRNA in Berlin on Monday that the G7 meeting would also dwell on the ouctome of the Iran nuclear negotiations in Lausanne, Switzerland.
US Secretary of State John Kerry will brief the other G7 foreign ministers on the result of the Lausanne talks Wednesday morning, said Schaefer.
Kerry had to delay his arrival at the G7 meeting in Luebeck as he is to testify to US Congress on Tuesday on the Iranian nuclear program, he
pointed out.
Schaefer reiterated his country was 'very satisfied' with the result of the Lausanne talks as it provided 'the basis' to reach a final nuclear
deal by the end of June.
The German diplomat did not rule out the possibility that the issue of Iran sanctions could also play a role at the two-day G7 talks.
He did stress though that the topic of Iran sanctions was part of a what he termed a 'give-and-take' between Iran and the E3 plus 3 (the US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany).
