ASTANA, Apr. 13 (MNA) On his second day of visit to Kazakhstan to meet with his counterpart Erlan Idrissov, Irans Zarif has given a speech at Astana University of the Humanities and Law today and received an honorary doctorate.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif spoke among students of Kazakhstan University of the Humanities and Law on Monday and answered their questions related to international issues.

He referred to Iran-Kazakhstan relations, noting extension of cooperation with other Central Asian countries was on Irans agenda.Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway can serve as one of the many factors to lead to prosperity and development in this region, said Zarif, highlighting that Kazakhstan could further expand its trade through this railway.

Zarif maintained that Iran sought stability and peace in the Persian Gulf, as well as strengthening ties with neighboring countries.

He also deemed trust-building and cooperation as Irans main diplomacy basis towards regional states, stressing the elimination of the terrorist group ISIL threats as Irans top priority.

The University then conferred an honorary doctorate to him.

Zarif is holding a private meeting with his counterpart Erlan Idrissov. The two will then attend a joint press conference today.

Speaking earlier among Iranians living in Kazakhstan, Zarif maintained that Iran dares to resist against the six world powers because the Iranian people see God as the only supreme power.

He also stressed that Iran has never sought nuclear weapons just the same way it did not seek retaliation in kind against Iraqi army when they used chemical weapons during the Imposed War; we can prove to the world that the accusation of war-waging countries against Iran is completely false. They seek to cause fear and promote their own oppressive and repressive policies by pitting the world against Iran, he had said.
