TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Supreme Leader's representative at the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ali Saeedi said the Islamic Revolution in Iran rocked the world as it changed the global power structure in unexpected ways.
"The Islamic Revolution in Iran changed the bipolar world equation and today the confrontation between the arrogant powers and Islamic Iran is actually a confrontation between the good and the bad," Saeedi said, addressing a forum in the Western city of Shahr-e Kord on Wednesday.

"Those who claimed the lands between the Nile to the Euphrates in the past have now created an iron dome and an iron wall to protect themselves and are afraid of the range of Hezbollah and Gaza's missiles," he added, indicating that Israel was on the offensive before the Islamic Revolution, while it is now on the defensive and is filled with fright in the post-revolution era.

Saeedi further noted the West's constant animosity towards Iran in the post-revolution era, saying that the US now sees its dominance over the oil reserves in the Middle-East in peril due to Iran's revolution. The West has launched proxy wars and is extremely focused on the Middle-East region due to the 540bln barrels of the strategic oil reserves that are in this region compared to the 30bln barrels in the US, he said.

He also referred to the nuclear talks between Iran and the world powers, and said pinning hope on the negotiations is a mistake, but such talks should continue to show Iran's attention to the views and considerations of the international community.

Led by the Founder of the Revolution, Imam Khomeini, Iranians confronted the forces of US-proxy Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi in late 1977 to end his oppressive, cruel and autocratic rule over the country.

By December 1978, millions of Iranians would take to the streets in protest against the policies of the Shah on a regular basis.

Grand Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini returned from exile to Iran to be received by millions of cheering crowds after the departure of the Shah in mid-January 1979. Two weeks later, the country saw the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

The final collapse of the Shah's regime came on February 11 when the military renounced its loyalty to the Shah and joined the revolutionary forces.
