Larijani urges promotion of Iran-Uganda trade ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Speaker of Irans Parliament Ali Larijani highlighted the expansion of political-economic relations between Tehran and Kampala.
In a Wednesday meeting with his Ugandan counterpart Rebecca Kadaga in Turkeys Istanbul, Larijani stressed that the activities of the two countries chambers of commerce should be promoted.



The Iranian speaker went on to say that Iran and Uganda should try to expand the commercial exchange between their businessmen.

Iran can cooperate with Uganda in mining industries by making joint investments, Larijani added.

Kadaga, for her part, hailed Irans advancements in different fields such as medicine, and asked for Tehrans help for the scientific, medical, and agricultural development of Uganda.

Larijani is in Istanbul to attend the 10th conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).

The Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States (PUIC) holds annual meetings to address the problems of Islamic countries.

The union was established in 1999 and is based in Iran.

The 9th session of the PUIC was held in Tehran in February 2014 with representatives from nearly 50 countries in attendance.
