Iranian pilgrims of Imam Hussain face problems on way back home
Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA Despite the entire efforts made by various concerned Iranian officials and especially the allocated facilities, the Iranian pilgrims of Imam Hussain (P) on his 40th day after martyrdom anniversary (Arbain) are entangled with numerous problems.
The Head of the Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Saeid Owhadi told IRNA here Sunday that Iran had sent 250 buses to Karbala and Najaf to bring back home the Iranian pilgrims.
During the past few days 500,000 of some 1,300,000 Iranian pilgrims of Imam Hussain (PBUH) returned to Iran and by the end of the day that figure will increase to 700,000, he said.

Speaking about the difficulties with which the Iranian pilgrims are entangled, he referred to the blockage of some Iran-Iraq borders, especially the Mehran and Khosravi border, lack of discipline due to being overcrowded of the border regions (in Shalamche and Chazzabeh borders), the delays in issuance of the entrance permits, lack of legal exit permits of some pilgrims, and getting lost of some pilgrims relatives.

He said that the cold weather during the nights and lack of sufficient residence due to overcrowded status in all borders, lack of appropriate sanitary and health services, too, added to the problems of the pilgrims, adding that all the same, such problems have not dissuaded the enthusiastic pilgrims from taking this spiritual pilgrimage.

Owhadi said that Iranians of all walks of life, specially university and high school students, reporters, teachers and professors, officials and ordinary people, including children and even infants have gone to this pilgrimage, often on foot.

The official ensured those pilgrims who have lost their beloved ones in the course of this spiritual trip that they will return to the Iranian border and from there to their homes safe and sound.
