At least 100 militants from ISIL terrorist group have been killed in a series of violent clashes with government troops across Iraq.
The terrorists were killed during mop-up operations in the towns of Haditha, Barwanah and Khafajah in the west of the provincial capital city of Ramadi.

This comes as a series of Iraqi military airstrikes have also killed 50 ISIL militants in the city of Fallujah and its surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has ordered the military to halt shelling of populated and residential areas held by the ISIL terrorists.
"Two days ago, I gave my orders to stop bombardment of all towns inhabited by civilians even if they have Daesh," al-Abadi said in Baghdad, adding, "We don't want to see more innocent victims.
However, the premier also pledged to push ahead with the military campaign against the group that has seized large swaths of land in the north and west of the country.

The Takfiri terrorists currently control parts of eastern Syria and Iraqs northern and western regions. They have committed heinous crimes and threatened all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and Izadi Kurds during their advances in Iraq.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The terrorist group has links with Saudi intelligence, and is believed to be supported by the Israeli regime.
