2nd Startup Weekend wraps up in Tehran

The second Startup Weekend has wrapped up in Irans capital, Tehran, by choosing three winner teams after 54 hours of intense competition.

The international event began on Wednesday evening in Tehran with the participation of more than 100 people interested in online businesses.

Ten teams, comprising of a total of 104 people, were formed around chosen ideas and competed with one another during 54 hours. Iranian advisors and the Startup Weekends international mentor, Rowan Yeoman, provided insight along the way.

At the end of the event, the jury chose three teams, including Morshed, Sweet Purchase and Ava-Amooz, as the winners.

The first Startup Weekend event was held on September 10 in Tehran with the participation of more than 120 of highly motivated developers, graphic artists and Web.

Startup Weekend is a US-based non-profit organization comprising of active entrepreneurs who are attempting to learn how to found their startups and launch successful ventures. This global grassroots movement has held more than 400 gathering in 100 countries around the world in 2011.
