TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced on Wednesday that President Hassan Rouhani attends the UN General Assembly annual meeting in New York scheduled for September.
"The president is scheduled to take part in the UN General Assembly conference," Zarif told reporters on the sidelines of cabinet meeting.
Planning is underway for the president, he said, adding Rouhani would he would speak at the UN General Assembly and would deliver a speech on nuclear disarmament as Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) President.
Elsewhere, regarding the UK Foreign Secretary's demand for a meeting with President Rouhani, Zarif said, "He has called for the meeting and we are ready for meeting based on mutual respects and interests..."
The 68th UN General Assembly meeting opens on September 17.
