IRNA � Walking away from Iran nuclear deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action will weaken US, Former US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs has said as another politician who opposes President Donald Trump's anti-JCPOA positions.


'Very strongly agree with ColinKahl+ RichardMNephew. Walking away from Iran Deal would strengthen Iran and weaken US,' Nicholas Burns said in his Twitter message released on Friday.

This is while, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in its 8th seasonal report, once again verified Iran's commitment to JCPOA.

'On 16 May 2017, the Agency verified that the HWPP was shut down. In a letter dated 11 June 2017, Iran informed the Agency that the operator of the HWPP intended to �start up� the plant on 17 June 2017. On 7 August 2017, the Agency verified that the plant was in operation and that Iran�s stock of heavy water was 111.0 metric tonnes,' IAEA report reads.

'Iran has continued the enrichment of UF6 at FEP.16 Iran has not enriched uranium above 3.67%
U-235 (para. 28).'

'As of 21 August 2017, the quantity of Iran�s uranium enriched up to 3.67% U-235 was 88.4 kg, based on the JCPOA and decisions of the Joint Commission.'

It was the third IAEA's report that verifies Iran commitment after US new President Donald Trump took office.

The report has questioned Trump administration on breaching JCPOA and it led to more isolation of the White House among its European allies.

A number of US politicians and even its foreign allies expressed their oppositions to Trump's anti-JCPOA positions in the recent days.

There is no better option for resolving what the US calls concerns regarding Iran than the nuclear agreement, said Richard Nephew, a former official of the US State Department.

Commenting on the same issue, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said on August 29, 'We have to repeat that Iran nuclear deal known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is an international agreement.'

As the outcome of The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed on July 14, 2015 in Vienna between Iran, on one side and world six major powers (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council�China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States�plus Germany) and the European Union, on the other.

The landmark nuclear deal was reached after hard and long term negotiations between Iran and members of the group 5+1.
