Putin, Erdogan begin talks in St. Petersburg, start meeting with handshake

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan are holding a meeting in the Russian city of St. Petersburg on Tuesday.

Putin said despite "very low, degraded" relations betweenthe countries afterthe Su-24 downing, ties betweenRussia and Turkey have reached "unprecedented levels" inrecent years.


Russian President Vladimir Putin said he would discuss the full range ofbilateral issues withhis Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan duringtheir Tuesday meeting.
"We will have the opportunity today todiscussthe full range ofour relations, including the restoration ofeconomic ties, anti-terrorism cooperation," Putin said.
