Tehran is holding talks on implementation of joint economic projects in the field of oil drilling with 30 European and Asian companies, the managing director of the National Iranian Drilling Company said.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) Heydar Bahmani said that Iran was willing to cooperate with foreign companies "utilizing the world's modern technologies."
"All these companies have called for joint cooperation with Iran's National Drilling Company in oil and gas industries," Bahmani said Sunday, as quoted by the local IRNA news agency.
In August 2015, Tehran and six international mediators, including Russia, reached a historic deal with Iran, which was set to ensure the peaceful nature of its nuclear program in exchange for the termination of anti-Tehran sanctions, in particular in oil sector.
In mid-January, the sanctions were removed after the International Atomic Energy Agency verified Tehrans compliance with the nuclear agreement. The move makes it possible for Iran to pursue the role of an active player on the global oil market.
