Iran's 1st VP encourages euto manufacturers to increase production, exports

rahimiTEHRAN, Jan 2 (Bernama) -- Iran's first Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi on Monday encouraged country's automobile manufacturers to boost production and increase exports.
According to Iran's national news agency IRNA, the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) Presidential Office website quoted Rahimi as making the remarks at a meeting aimed at surveying the problems with which the Iranian automobile manufacturers are entangled with as the country ranks 13th place in vehicle manufacturing.

Rahimi asked the country's creditor banks to have greater interactions with the automobile manufacturers and to provide for them the conditions for increasing production, while decreasing the cost of their products and offering greater services to their clients.

Rahimi also emphasised the need for economic reforms aimed at elimination of some of the inconsistencies and problems in car production process, reiterating, "Our auto manufacturers must try to improve the quality of their goods, meet the demands of the Iranian markets, and also increase their exports noticeably."

He said that such meeting with the car manufacturers would continue till full solving of their problems, adding, "Agreements must be reached between the creditor banks and the car manufacturers so that after summing up the problems associated with automobile manufacturing at one of the upcoming cabinet meeting the government would adopt special decision aimed at solving these manufacturers' entire problems."

At Monday session with Rahimi, the managing directors of two of Iran's top car manufacturers, Iran Khodro and Saipa spoke about the latest status of their factories' receiving facilities, as well as statistics on the extent of their sales and the allocated credits to them during the past few years.
