Irans hypersonic missile passes tests, says IRGC

An advanced hypersonic ballistic missile developed by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)'s Aerospace Force has undergone tests and will be unveiled soon, the forces commander said.

Addressing an academic meeting in Tehran on Monday, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh has said the homegrown hypersonic ballistic missile has undergone all tests and will be unveiled soon.

The new missile can penetrate all air defense missile systems and detonate the enemys anti-missile systems, Amir Ali Hajizadeh added.

Describing the production of the projectile as a huge leap in Irans missile industry, the commander said the missile can maneuver below and above the Earths atmosphere at a speed of Mach 13.

Last year, General Hajizadeh had announced the construction of a hypersonic ballistic missile in the country.

He had stated that the most sophisticated hypersonic ballistic missile will pass through all missile shield systems.

This newly-developed ballistic missile will pass through all missile defense systems, the IRGC general had said, adding that it is not believed that such a technology can be developed for decades to counter it.

This missile targets the enemys anti-missile systems and is a giant leap in the field of missile technology, IRGC Aerospace Force Commander GenetalHajizadeh had underlined.
