Tehran, July 5, IRNA � Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the Navy has installed missile and electronic warfare apparatus alongside Iranian coasts.


He said very strong drones and proper air-to-sea arms too have been deployed alongside Iranian coastlines.

The commander stressed that the Iranian navy enjoys very high potentials and remarkable combat power in all areas including electronic warfare and drones.

Sayyari further noted the construction phase of a new destroyer called Sahand has already been completed and said it will join the other two ones namely Jamaran and Damavand in the Iranian navy fleet by the end of current Iranian year (to end March 20, 2017).

He said the navy has escorted over 300 vessels travelling in the Indian Ocean, Gulf of Aden and Bab-el-Mendeb.

He also highlighted the uninterrupted presence of Iranian navy in north of the Indian Ocean especially the Gulf of Aden since 2008.

Sayyari said Iran�s Peace and Friendship Fleet are present in the Pacific Ocean, South China Sea, the Mediterranean and the Caspian Sea and managed to promote good relations in the region.
