Rouhani: Tehran-Baku bolsters strategic ties

Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes expansion of all-out relations and cooperation with Azerbaijan.


Rapid implementation of the accords signed between the two countries can help deepen mutual and regional cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, President Rouhani said.

President Rouhai also expressed hope that implementation of mutually signed agreements to prepare grounds for trilateral cooperation between Iran, Republic of Azerbaijan and Russia mainly in transit of goods, energy and commerce.

In the telephone conversation, President Rouhani thanked his Azeri counterpart for his ring and wished success and prosperity for both nations.

Thanking the hospitality of the Iranian government and nation from Azeri delegates in Tehran, he said implementation of Tehran-Baku accords will open a new chapter in both sides' relations, Azeri president said.

Referring to construction of North to South corridor, he said Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan can help speed up construction of the project.

He wished for success and prosperity of the Iranian nation and its government.
