An official with the Tehran Provincial Sports and Youth Department said Tuesday that planning has been made for more than 500 Iranian women to attend and watch the FIVB World League Finals which are to be held in Tehran later in June and July.
Fatemeh Salimi further said the security departments at the ministries of interior and sports and youth as well as Tehran police will maintain order in the volleyball games, citing the sensitivity of womens presence in sporting arenas, which is Irans first.
The home games of the Iranian volleyball squad will be held at Azadi Stadium as of June 19 for three weeks.
